NZDF Person of the Year 2022
The Person of the Year event is an annual event for the NZDF to celebrate individual successes and recognise organisational excellence.

This year's Person of the Year event is hosted by the Chief of Defence Force (CDF), with support from the NZ Army to plan and conduct the event on CDF's behalf.

The event allows members of our Senior Leadership Team to reflect on the year passed and acknowledge the achievements of a group of award winners from across the Defence Force. The pinnacle award of this event is the Person of the Year Award.
The NZDF Person of the Year Award recognises a member of the NZDF in a given calendar year, who most exemplifies the Defence Force values of Courage, Commitment, Comradeship, and Integrity. The recipient is selected from the group of awards presented at the event, as well as members of the NZDF who this year received a royal honour for gallantry; recognition of distinguished and meritorious service the Defence Meritorious Service Medal, or Chief of Defence, Chief of Service, or NZDF commendations.
