The Ohakea-based Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) aerobatics display team, the Black Falcons, is set to appear at several locations across both North and South Islands later this week.
Team member Squadron Leader Michael Williams said the pilots were looking forward to a busy few days.
“It’s a real pleasure to bring our displays or a flypast to people at any time, and on these flights we’ll be covering quite a bit of ground, so lots of people will get the chance to see us,” he said.
“Our T-6C Texan II aircraft is the one on which all RNZAF pilots learn to fly, so we also hope that seeing us at Feilding on Thursday, or in the South Island this weekend will inspire some of the young people who see us. It could be them up there one day.”
Note: Flights and timings are all subject to weather conditions and other operational considerations.
Central Districts Field Days, Feilding - Flypast at 12pm
Caroline Bay Rock and Hop, Timaru - Display at 2:45pm
Tahunanui Beach, Nelson - Display at 12:25pm
