Aid lands in Wapenamanda, Papua New Guinea

New Zealand Defence Force support continues following the catastrophic landslide in Papua New Guinea on Friday 24 May.

Over the weekend, one of our Royal New Zealand Air Force C-130H Hercules aircraft successfully completed flights into Wapenamanda in Papua New Guinea carrying approximately 48,000 lbs of aid, as well as Fire and Emergency NZ and New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade staff.

The Hercules also transported the PNG National Disaster Centre (NDC) Director to Port Moresby. Approximately 120,000lbs of aid from Australia, NZ and UK is to be delivered in the future.
