Location

NZDF Command and Staff College is located within Trentham Military Camp in Upper Hutt, approximately 40 kilometres from Wellington International Airport.

How do I get there?


From the South (Wellington)

Take State Highway 2 out of Wellington towards Upper Hutt. Come off the motorway at the Silverstream/Trentham off ramp and onto Fergusson Drive. Approximately 4 km along Fergusson Drive, turn Right at Sutherland Avenue traffic lights. Once over the railway crossing, the road changes to Messines Avenue. The Entrance to Trentham Camp is 1km on the left off Messines Avenue.


From the North (SH 1)

From Mana, cross the Paremata Bridge and turn sharp left onto SH58 (Paremata Road) to the Hutt Valley and come over “Haywards Hill”. On the Hutt Valley side of Haywards Hill, turn North (Left) at the lights onto SH2 motorway. Approximately 3 km from the lights come off the motorway at the Silverstream/Trentham off-ramp and onto Fergusson Drive. Approximately 4 km along Fergusson Drive, turn Right at Sutherland Avenue Lights. Once over the railway crossing, the road changes to Messines Avenue. The entrance to Trentham Camp is 1km on the left off Messines Avenue.


From the North (SH 2)

From the Wairarapa come over the Rimutaka Hill and continue South on SH2 through Te Marua to Upper Hutt. At the traffic lights, continue South along the River Road, exiting to your left at the Moonshine Road off-ramp (passing through the Totara Park, Gibbons Street, and Whakatiki Street exits). Continue to the Moonshine Road traffic lights and turn right onto Fergusson Drive. Approximately 2km along Fergusson Drive, turn left at Sutherland Avenue traffic lights. Once over the railway crossing, the road changes to Messines Avenue. The entrance to Trentham Camp is 1 km on the left off Messines Avenue.

On Arrival

During working hours, check in with the CSC Administration Officer to collect your key and to complete march in/joining procedure.  Outside working hours, report to the guard hut at the main gate to uplift accommodation keys. The next working day complete the procedure above.  (Working hours are normally from 0800 to 1630/1700 hours)
