Combined Maritime Forces

The New Zealand Defence Force contributes around 60 NZDF personnel to the Combined Maritime Forces' (CMF) maritime security operations in the Middle East.

The CMF is a multinational naval partnership of 31 nations, and assists in providing freedom of seas and shipping lanes through a secure maritime environment. 

The NZDF contingent uses the P-3K2 Orion surveillance aircraft to carry out maritime security operations for the CMF.
