The Chief of Defence Force, Lieutenant General (LTGEN) Tim Keating, leaves today for a visit to Singapore where he will meet with his counterpart and visit Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) facilities.
“The New Zealand Defence Force works closely with the Singaporean military at many different levels. We have a long-standing and positive relationship, and maintain close ties.
“The visit is part of the Defence Force’s ongoing engagement with the armed forces of other countries in the Asia-Pacific region,” says LTGEN Keating.
During his visit, he will meet the Chief of the Singaporean Armed Forces, Major-General Perry Lim, and the Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen.
LTGEN Keating will also visit two Singapore Armed Forces bases — one naval and one land-based — to look at SAF operations.
