US Secretary of Army visits New Zealand

26 April 2015

US Secretary of Army John McHugh is visiting New Zealand this week.

Secretary of Defence Helene Quilter, who will host Secretary McHugh, says the visit provides a good opportunity to discuss upcoming defence exercises and other engagement activities.

“Secretary McHugh’s visit is in keeping with the close bilateral relationship between New Zealand and the United States, which is in excellent shape.“

Secretary McHugh is visiting New Zealand 27-28 April 2015. This is his first visit to New Zealand in his capacity as Secretary of Army, and continues the engagement between NZ and the US.

The US Secretary of Air Force visited New Zealand in January this year, and the US Secretary of Navy visited early last year.
