The Chief of Air Force, Air Vice-Marshal (AVM) Mike Yardley, will host this year’s Air Chiefs’ Conference, which starts tomorrow.
The conference of Air Force chiefs of New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States takes place every year and hosting is rotated amongst the participants.
AVM Yardley says that holding regular meetings with his counterparts from our closest defence partners is an important connection.
“The discussions at this meeting always have great benefits, for all of us. Each Air Force goes about its business in its own way, but there is also extensive common ground. We have much to learn from each other as modern Air Forces.
“We all meet regularly in exercises around the globe, and we have other connections such as meetings of subject matter experts, and exchanges at all levels of our operations. This meeting between Air Force leaders builds on those day-to-day relationships,” he said.
The conference takes place over 17-22 November with sessions at several venues.
