Christchurch food banks to benefit from Army's generosity

For the past two weeks New Zealand Defence Force personnel throughout the country have been collecting canned food to donate to local food banks as part of a charity event called Mission Kiwi Can.

On Friday 15 July Burnham-based Army personnel will once again be helping out people affected by the Christchurch earthquake when the canned food they have collected as part of Mission Kiwi Can will be handed over to the Christchurch City Mission and the Salvation Army.

What:The Chief of Defence Force, Lieutenant General Rhys Jones will hand over cans and funds raised by Army personnel to the Christchurch City Mission and Salvation Army food banks

When: Friday 15 July 1.00pm

Where: Burnham Army Camp

Note: Drivers licence or equivalent ID is required to be shown on entry to all Defence facilities.
