Operation Anzac Spirit prizegiving

New Zealand Army Artist Captain Matt Gauldie will announce the winners of Operation Anzac Spirit, an art competition for Year 7 and 8 students, at a special function in Wellington on Friday 6 May.

Over 600 entries have been received for the New Zealand Defence Force-run competition which asked students to submit a poster showing what Anzac Day means to them.

Where:  Level 1, Defence House, 2 Aitken Street, Thorndon, Wellington
When:  Friday 6 May from 1.30-2.30pm.

A large number of entries will be on display at the awards ceremony. This event will be attended by the three main prize winners and their families, the Vice Chief of Defence Force, Rear Admiral Jack Steer, representatives from the RSA and members of the New Zealand Defence Force.


Winners come from the following regions: Gisborne, Auckland and Upper Hutt.

Media wishing to attend the prizegiving must register with Ally Clelland on (04) 496 0273 or 021 569 130 before 10am Friday 6 May.  Appropriate media accreditation with photo ID must be on display at all times while on Defence property.
