Kiwis return from six month deployment

Media are invited to attend the return on Friday 29 April of the seventeenth rotation of the New Zealand Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT), who have completed a six month deployment to Afghanistan.

Approximately 54 New Zealand Defence Force personnel, including Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Fox, will arrive at Christchurch International Airport at 11.35am on Friday.

They will be met by Lieutenant Colonel Mike Duncan, Acting Commanding Officer 3rd Land Force Group, and family and friends. The Honourable Judith Collins, Minister of Police and Veterans’ Affairs, will also be attending to meet returning New Zealand Police personnel.

The rest of the contingent returned to New Zealand last week.

When: 11.35am Friday 29 April. The time may change - you must register your attendance to be informed of any changes.

Where: Christchurch International Airport (International Terminal).

Media wishing to attend the arrival must register with Nicole Munro, 021 569 148, by 4pm on 28 April. Photo ID will be required.
