What family violence prevention services are available within NZDF?

Support in the NZDF can be provided by the following:

  • Family and Social Services officers, welfare facilitators, social workers or community services officers
  • Chaplains
  • Health professionals (for military personnel)
  • Psychologists (for military personnel)
  • Military Police
  • Employee Assistance Programme provider, VITAE services (for civilian staff)

In most places, there are a range of family violence prevention services, including services for Maori, Pacific peoples and migrants.

Rural areas are covered by their nearest town or city services.
